There has been a lot in the news lately about how hospital billing errors and overcharges. And it isn't surprising, all those charges collected daily from those little stickers affixed to the item. Date entry alone could account for many many errors, but certainly not all of them.
To put a dollar figure on it fraud alone accounts for $51 BILLION a year. That doesn't account for the errors that aren't detected. Put some of those funds back where they belong, in your pocket.
Doris, You are absolutely correct! Hospitals have no consumer oversight and nobody watching what they do, however, with a $1.6 Trillion a year business, some form of abuse takes place. Audits conducted by certified medical bill advocates have shown HUGE amounts of overcharging...be it mistakes or fraud, I cannot say. What can be said, is the US is paying too much for medical care and the first step is to control hospitalization costs. I have been in nurse a long time. When I first started we wore starched white uniform dresses and caps.
A lot has changed since the Technology has advanced. The role and duties of nurses has expanded. There is plenty of work available now and the pay has gone up. There are more men in nursing now.
Until clear, concise and correct medical bills are the norm and not the exception, let us audit your medical bills for errors and overcharges..
